2019 BMW X3 Exterior - Side Profile

Stay Plugged On The Latest BMW News

You already know and love the new BMW X3. It’s a premier luxury crossover with dynamic performance and undeniable comfort from the front seats to the rest of the cabin. You know that you can get yours as well as other BMW models through our BMW financial services here at South Motors BMW. What you might not know is that there’s a rumored plug-in hybrid variant of the BMW X3 that could potentially launch in 2020.

This coincides with what’s expected to be released for the new BMW 3 Series. The new BMW 3 Series is expected to run with the same powertrain found in the rumored BMW X3, which explains the timing. Each upcoming BMW vehicle is sure to be built to the standards of The Ultimate Driving MachineĀ®.

While there have been rumors of a non-plug-in hybrid model developing for release later on around 2020-21, this plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the BMW X3 could reportedly come even sooner.

Ultimate Driving Performance

A plug-in hybrid variant of the BMW X3 would bring additional performance and efficiency boosts to the already powerful and efficient BMW X3. Particularly in the rumored BMW X3 xDRIVE30e which would use the new powertrain, you’ll find performance that exceeds rivals such as Mercedes-Benz or Land Rover.

This powertrain could potentially boast 275 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. For comparison, the standard X3 xDrive30i generates 248 horsepower and accelerates from 0-60 MPH in just 6 seconds. As a plug-in hybrid, it’s also expected to provide at least 30 miles of fully-electric driving. This would be a welcome addition to anyone’s garage with the potential savings at the gas pump due to more efficient performance.

It’s Literally Electric

In addition to a plug-in hybrid model of the BMW X3, you can also expect a fully-electric model to come soon as well. This vehicle, rumored to be called the BMW iX3, will run just on the strength of its electric motor which will do a wonder for your fuel efficiency. Drivers who are environmentally conscious yet still want a performance beast will have plenty of options between the plug-in hybrid BMW X3 and the BMW iX3.

When these vehicles finally hit the market, you can count on South Motors BMW to have all the models in one place for you to test-drive.
