"They branch out regularly into the obscure niche markets of personal transportation to deliver previously-unheard levels of efficiency and performance. More recently, they impressed us with the M Bike - a high-performance bicycle even Lance Armstrong would be proud to saddle. Now, they have turned their intelligent eyes upon yet another often-overlooked market - the scooter. That's right - scooters. And to earn that BMW roundel, you can confidently assume it is going to be a darn good one. Classified as a "maxi scooter" for now, development is continuing on what BMW has named the "Concept C", and it will soon enter the market as two gas powered engine variants with a fully electric one to follow. Boasting a new inline 2-cylinder engine and a continuously variable transmission, the Concept C will deliver power and torque levels topping the scooter segment. It is designed to be an excellent balance of motorcycle and scooter, combing qualities of both to deliver the best scooter experience possible. A host of technological wizardry will accompany all models, including LCD monitors to replace the rearview mirrors, a built-in GPS and an ABS to compliment the braking. This scooter should prove itself to be an invaluable asset in densely urban settings and anywhere else efficient, flexible personal transportation is preferred. Further details are few for now, but stay tuned to our blog for the latest news on the BMW Concept C scooter as well as the full family of BMWs. |
