And along came a Spyder

Though it might have missed the NYIAS, the reveal of the BMW i8 Spyder Concept will not miss the Beijing Motor Show. For those that don't know, the BMW i8 Spyder Concept is a two-seat, open-top variant of the upcoming BMW i8. It hosts most of the same architecture, but is a convertible with upward-swiveling, windowless doors, and a whole lot of curb appeal (especially if you ask the legions of online BMW enthusiasts drooling over this one right now).

Keeping cool is a science

BMW has its own environmental wind tunnel, and its engineers have put it to good use while working intensively on the climate control system that is first appearing in this year's 2012 BMW 3 Series. In the tunnel, it is possible to simulate every climate zone on the planet, from the hottest to the coldest, and, as a result, have produced one of the most advanced climate control systems any automobile has ever seen.
