When the 3 Series debuted in the United States in 1976, it quickly set the bar for performance-minded sports sedans. With each new generation since, it has evolved into an even more sophisticated and powerful machine - and the latest rendition, the 2008 328i and 328xi Coupes are certainly no exception. It is, quite simply, the perfect balance of breathtaking design and endorphin-producing power. From its muscular front hood and new signature profile lines, to exquisite refinements throughout the cockpit, our designers have re-sculpted the coupe, inside and out. Our engineers, meanwhile, have been hard at work on the new 3-liter, inline 6-cylinder engine with Valvetronic technology, which offers greater power, better fuel-efficiency and quicker engine response than ever before.
With 300 horsepower and class-leading 300 ft. lbs. of torque, the 335i Coupe is the most powerful 3 Series Coupe we've ever built, wrapped within the body of a beautiful machine. It features the world's first inline six-cylinder engine with high precision injection and twin turbo chargers. It's also remarkably fuel efficient, offering a major boost to engine power and a significant reduction of fuel consumption, at the same time. But even more impressive is that this engine marks a significant advancement in turbo technology. By using two small turbo chargers instead of one large one, our engineers eliminated the "turbo lag" other turbo engines are known for.
